Solo S2000 Extra Large Professional Countertop Convection Oven 1.5 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel

I chose the Solo S2000 Large Stainless Steel Professional Convection Oven with Dual Mode Rotisserie because it was a largest of the reasonably priced table-top ovens. The oven seems to work fairly well. It will (just barely) fit my large baking sheets. Also it will (just barely) fit a 14 in Papa Murphy's pizza.

For a convection its pretty impressive --especially considering the price, it browns, bakes and crisps much like a regular oven –though it won’t do justice to a bag of microwave popcorn or flash defrost a rock solid frozen steak but its not meant to. On the other hand, if you find yourself in constant need of a spare or second oven to handle real oven chores Solo is perfect.
  • 1700w multi mode convection oven & cook center with dual mode rotisserie and accessories
  • 1.5 cu. ft./42 liter capacity, interior dimensions: height 11, width 18, depth 13
  • Illuminated, stainless steel interior for easy cleaning, easy 'set & forget' operation
  • Precision temperature settings 150-500 degrees, large cavity accommodates oversized pans
  • Has the features & functions to be 'all the oven you need no matter the oven you need', all accessories included
The owner's manual is labeled "Convection Oven and Rotisserie." The center knob includes settings for rotisserie cooking. A 1/2 sheet pan fits perfectly, with or without the racks in it, and it is deep enough to hold my 13.5" baking stone with a little room to spare. There is some friction when opening and closing the door, which I first thought was a defect.

The instructions say to leave the door ajar 1 to 2 inches when broiling. I have noticed that there's a bug in the the operation of the "Roast" mode, which is supposed to provide heat from both the top and bottom elements and operate in convection mode (fan on). The fan only runs when the heating elements are active. I haven't checked to see if the "convection" mode has a similar bug. Still, the results are quite acceptable for a table-top oven.

While there’s more expensive “industrial grade” options that will also match my kitchen and needs, I also needed to match my budget and Solo delivers. The outside of the oven does get fairly hot, so have just learned not to place anything on top while the Solo S2000 Extra Large Professional Countertop Convection Oven 1.5 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel unit is on. I am definitely glad that I decided to purchase this oven. So far this unit has met all my expectations. No regrets!
